Wait! THAT'S from Walmart? It's Fabulous!

My recent love affair with Walmart

If I do say so myself, I’m a dang good shopper. I take great pride in the fact that I could walk into almost ANY store and find a treasure. However, there is a big difference between finding one or two items and finding a whole slew you want to take home and wear/use ASAP. Sort of like when you go to a restaurant and like one thing on the menu, or want to order the whole left side of the menu - ordering the whole menu is how I’ve been feeling about my shopping experience at Walmart lately.

Yes, this is a sponsored post, and thank you Walmart for supporting my little pieces of the internet. But you all know I would not have taken on this collaboration if I did not firmly and enthusiastically believe in the brand and the products. For that, you always have my promise.

It Started 18 Months Ago...

My Walmart love affair actually started about 18 months before Walmart reached out. I was working with a styling client virtually. She lives in Texas and I’m in Ohio. We had completed the analysis piece of her wardrobe consultation (where we decide what stays, what goes, and what’s missing). And I was on to the shopping/sourcing part of the process.

My search for a colorful topper to compliment her blue eyes and blond hair (yes, she’s a classic Texas beauty) led me to a turquoise blue blazer from Walmart that truly looked like it could have been a designer piece. Not seeing it in person, I was a little skeptical - but you don’t know if you don’t try, right? And you know what?!? It was FABULOUS! Well made, beautiful hand to the fabric, finely tailored, gorgeous on her, AND only $40!

A HUGE score! First, no one, and I mean no one would guess that this blazer cost $40. And second, this allowed us to allocate more of her shopping budget to other areas of her wardrobe. A big ‘ol Win/Win, thanks to Walmart!

Fast Forward to Fall 2021

So when Walmart reached out to collaborate this fall I was really excited! And even more excited when I discovered they are exclusively launching the L’Oreal Age Perfect, Cell Renewal, Midnight Serum.

L'Oreal Midnight Serum

I’m a girl, ok a woman, Okaaaay, a middle-aged woman that invests a fair amount of time, energy, and money into her skincare routine. So, I was intrigued by what the L’Oreal Midnight Serum had to offer.

  • It’s effective for all skin types and tones, even sensitive skin - it’s made without parabens and mineral oil and allergy tested to boot (a plus for me, I’m a rash baby and often can’t use certain products because I’m so sensitive).

  • The Anti-Aging Serum is packed with Patented Antioxidants, Vitamin E, and Hyaluronic Acid (which helps retain moisture and plumps skin)

  • This “recipe” reveals millions of new cells, smoothing wrinkles, and creating firmer more radiant skin. (I mean who doesn’t want that??)

Even though it’s called a midnight serum, you can use it morning and night (and that way you get 2x the benefits)!

This is How I Use the L'Oreal Midnight Renewal Serum:

  1. After I wash my face (both morning and night) the first thing I put on is the L’Oreal Midnight Renewal Serum. I put a full dropper in my hand and warm it up by rubbing my fingers together in a circular motion.

  2. Then I gently press the serum into my face and neck (don’t forget the neck!!) The product has a really nice fresh smell that is subtle and not overpowering.

  3. I then let the silky moisture sink in and follow with my daily moisturizer and SPF (if morning) and nighttime moisturizer and eye cream (if night).

  4. Then I add makeup. Which I’ve found I need less of when my skin looks healthy. However, if I add makeup when using the L’Oreal Midnight Serum, I find the texture works like a really fine primer so my makeup goes on very evenly.

Best of all, the L’Oreal Midnight Serum retails for $32.99 which is waaaay less than the serum I’ve been using. As I said earlier, I try to take really good care of my skin. And I’m not afraid to spend on good products. However, If I can have the same results and save money, I’d be a fool not to.

 Onto The Fashion At Walmart

The beauty assortment at Walmart blew me away, but at the end of the day, fashion has got my heart. And Walmart is knocking it out of the park with its elevated fashion brands Scoop and Free Assembly. With Walmart's addition of Brandon Maxwell as Creative Director, I’m predicting it will only get better.

Brandon Maxwell

A quick 411 for those thinking the name Brandon Maxwell sounds familiar. He is the design genius behind many of Lady GaGa’s most noted looks. Including her Met Gala 2019 looks (I said looks, plural because there were many outfit changes) as well as Dr. Jill Biden’s emerald green coat dress seen at the Democratic National Convention.

So to have Maxwell at the helm of these fashion brands is giving this fashion nerd all kinds of feels. It’s like a fashion for everyone, kind of moment. And that is precisely Brandon Maxwell’s objective. To quote Maxwell  “this {Walmart} partnership really gives me the opportunity to do that on a larger scale. High-quality design that’s accessible to all is something that I feel really strongly about and I think everyone should be able to have access to how fashion can make you feel.”

Look for the Holiday 2021 Scoop and Free Assembly collections to highlight Brandon Maxwell’s influence.

OMG, That Dress Does NOT Look Like it’s From Walmart!

I did a little fall shopping at Walmart. As I was showing all of the items to my styling assistant Sydney she was blown away! Over and over she kept saying “Wait, THAT is from Walmart?!? Really??” And with a huge smile on my face I was able to say, “Yup, this too is from Walmart. Fantastic, Right??”

So the only downside to Walmart’s great styling at an unbeatable price is that the pieces sell out FAST. I hate, hate, hate posting pieces that are sold out or have limited availability. But I do want you to see how great the pieces are. That’s my conundrum...soo, I  decided to post the photos in the hopes they’ll get restocked or you’ll find something else you love. If there is another piece in that print, I linked that for you as well.
