Fall 2024 Jean Trends: 6 Must-Try Styles

Fall 2024 Jean Trends

Let's face it, finding the perfect pair of jeans can feel like an endless quest. Our bodies change, trends shift, and what looks amazing on one person might not flatter another.

I don’t know about you, but I can be a different size at 9 am than at 9 pm. So, the jeans that were comfortable in the morning could severely dig into my stomach after dinner. Adding stretch to denim makes them more comfortable, but then if there’s too much stretch, they grow and fall down/look sloppy as the day goes on. It's like being Goldilocks on a denim hunt - everything has to be just right.

But don't worry, I've got your back! I did a big ‘ol denim try on, acting as your guinea pig, trying on the latest styles so you can see how they really fit and feel.

The Good News:

  • Anything Goes: From wide legs to slim fits, long to cropped, high to low rise—it's all in style. Embrace what makes you feel confident!

  • Expand Your Options: Don't get stuck in a denim rut. Branch out with new silhouettes and lengths to create exciting outfits.

  • Avoid the Trends That Are Fading: Overly distressed jeans and super-tight jeggings have had their moment. Focus on styles with longevity.

My Stats (for reference):

  • 5'4"

  • 130 lbs (today)

  • 32D or 34C

  • Typically a size 26 in jeans, small/4 in tops and most other things

  • I’m high-waisted

  • My tummy is my self-conscious area

  • I have broad shoulders so I sometimes size up in knits/blazers

Now, let's dive into some fall-worthy jean styles!

Ever Vintage Barrel Leg

This jean is Evereve’s private label. A subtle take on the barrel leg trend, it's versatile and can be dressed up or down. It’s a great everyday jean! I'm wearing a 26, and it also comes in a lighter wash with subtle distressing.

I bought them with a client recently, and they were so good. She had not bought jeans in 7 years (pregnancy, postpartum, etc). And she was a die-hard skinny jeans girl, so branching into this style was a smidge out of her comfort zone. BUT, she loved them, felt confident, and purchased them in both washes!!

We styled them with a cami and booties for nights out and sneakers and a tee shirt for everday - these really are a workhorse pair of jeans!!

Eli Arched Leg Jean

I happen to really love this style! Think of this as a "mini barrel" jean - a great option if you want to try the trend without going too extreme. They run true to size, sit right at the waist, and offer room in the upper thighs. I'm a big fan of Pistola's modern styles and quality denim!

The reviews say it runs small - but in my experience, I think they run true to size. If you carry most of your weight in your tummy (like a true apple shape) you may need to size up. They sit right at the waist, and as with most arch/barrel styles, they offer room in the upper thighs.

I’m a big fan of this brand. They offer modern styles and quality denim that feels designer but is more attainable.

Penny Utility Jean

A utility jean is sort of a modern-day cargo jean, right? So it gives that sort of workwear vibe. Instead of having extra pockets on the side of the hips and thighs, you get one patch pocket on the front. It gives a casual feel but is in a more polished pair of jeans.

This pair runs true to size. The leg is somewhere between a full and straight leg—kind of like a hybrid. There is some stretch, so it has a comfortable feel. Yet overall there is structure.

Ayla Baggy Jean

A fantastic option for skinny jean lovers who want to try something new. These are fitted on top but go straight from the hips down. I own this in the light wash. I like to wear them full length, even though they're meant to be cuffed.

If I were to wear them full length, I’d pair these with a higher heel or have them hemmed; IMHO, they’re a tad too long in this photo.

Bonus: the pocket placement on the tush is excellent!  I like it when a pocket sort of covers your tush and gives it shape - that is individual for each person. So some pockets look good on me. And some pockets might look good on you.

Anessa 31” w Raw Hem

A high-rise wide leg that will stretch a bit as you wear it. I’m wearing a 26. I will tell you that when I put them on, I was like, “Oh, oh, these are too tight.” But there are certain jeans that will stretch, and my experts at Evereve told me that these are ones that will stretch, so I trusted them. And even as I was filming, they began to give.

Paige jeans generally have smaller pockets.  I don't mind them, and they look fantastic on many of my clients. I prefer myself with a bigger pocket. But there are a lot of ladies bottoms that look better with a smaller, higher pocket placement.

I also really like how these look with sneakers, even though they're long. I'm obsessed with these little animal print sneakers. I think they're adorable!

Ren Wide Leg

Petite ladies, rejoice! This wide leg hits right at the ankle. I like it with the kitten heel, or something that's showing the top of your foot. It helps create visual length - which is exactly what we petite gals need. It's a mid-high rise with a beautiful mid-blue wash.

Also, even though it's a wide-leg, it's not a super wide-leg. So it pairs well with an oversized blazer. That’s not always easy with a wide leg.
